Stewart CinkStewart Cink joined the US PGA Tour in 1997, after winning three Tournaments on the Nike Tour in 1996. He was one of the few golfers to win an event in his 'Rookie' year, when he won the Canon Greater Hartford Open. With his confidence obviously boosted Stewart performed consistently on the Tour for the next few years, and won again in 2000, winning the MCI Classic.

He made his real breakthrough though in 2009 when he won the Open Championship at Turnberry, he picked up the Claret Jug to push his career onto another level. It was of course the tournament that will be remembred for Tom Watson going so close but Cink showed he was a world class player and won the play-off with some ease.

He has his best year to date in 2004 where he finished 5th on the US money list. He also won two events, the MCI Heritage and the the pretigious WCG-NEC International Tournament. He spent 27 weeks in 2004 in the top ten of the World rankings.

In 2008 Cink enjoyed much success in the WCG-Accenture World Matchplay Championship, where he reached the final, where he lost to a formidable Tiger Woods He also featured prominently in the US Masters that year, tying for 3rd place. This equalled his previous best performances in Major Tournaments; he was 3rd in the US Open in 2001 and 3rd in the USPGA in 1999.

His Ryder Cup performances are much less auspicious. He has made the US Ryder Cup Team on the last three losing occasions in 2002, 2004 and 2006. He has played 12 matches in total, winning only three. He has won one and lost twice in the singles.
