García has been a member of the European Ryder Cup Team five times during his career and he will be aiming to make it number six in 2012. The Spaniard immediately took to the team game to become one of the key players in the European team with victories in 2002, 2004 and 2006 to his name so far.

Over the past year we have seen Garcia head back up the rankings after his alarming drop in form which saw him miss out on the Ryder Cup in 2010. Garcia still went to Celtic Manor as a vice captain to Colin Montgomerie and it was clear he was eager to get back on the playing team for 2012.
