Hunter Mahan - USA Ryder Cup Team 2010
Hunter Mahan was a wild card pick from Paul Azinger in 2008 in the US victory at Valhalla, but this time he has managed to qualify for the squad automatically and will head to Celtic Manor in great form. He has been steadily rising up the world rankings for some time now and it appears that he is starting to realise his potential at this level. Mahan has three PGA Tour wins to his name with the biggest and most recent victory coming at the WGC Event at Firestone, his win there sealed his place on the Ryder Cup Team no doubt to the delight of Corey Pavin.

On his Ryder Cup debut he was a big success picking up 3.5 points and going unbeaten throughout the weekend, this was despite the fact that he was regarded by many as a surprise call up up by Azinger prior to that tournament. With that in mind he will be looking to improve on that performance and add to his points tally in Celtic Manor.
That experience means that he could well be one of the key members for the Americans in Wales this year and Corey Pavin could well rely on him to perform to the best of his ability. Mahan has long been destined for a big career in the pro game, he had a very successful amateur career, he won the Haskins Award in 2003 for Outstanding Collegiate Golfer.
