Celtic Manor

Celtic Manor

The Celtic Manor Resort is in Newport and it is the first time the Ryder Cup will be played in Wales and they have been busy preparing the resort ever since they won the right to host the matches in 2001. Since then, all kinds of developments and building has been going on at the resort including the design and construction of the Twenty Ten Course that will be used for the 2010 Ryder Cup.

The Celtic Manor Resort is based on just off the M4 outside of Newport and is set in a magnificent 1400 acres that incorporates the Roman Road course, the Montgomorie Course and of course the Ryder Cup Twenty Ten Course. This means it has fast become one of the best golfing resorts in the whole of Europe and that is only set to grow with the Ryder Cup on the horizon in 2010.

Twenty Ten Course

The Twenty Ten course is the first course to be designed and built specifically for a Ryder Cup and has been set with the idea of helping the spectators follow matches in the Ryder Cup. It is a par 71 course that totals 7,378 yards and should be a good testing mix between birdie chances and tough holes which is ideal for the Ryder Cup format.
