Anthony Kim - USA Ryder Cup Team
Anthony Kim, a Korean-American is one of the rising stars of International golf. Only turning professional in 2006. He made an immediate impact, finishing tied second in the his very first Tournament, the Valero Texas Open. He earned his PGA tour card through the qualifying school for the 2007 season and made a great start and pushed himself into the 100 Players in the World. He had four top ten finishes and on the US PGA tour that year, a final round of 67 gave him a tie for 20th place. This round was the second lowest of the Tournament.
Kim broke his maiden earlier this year when winning the Wachovia Championship, defeating former British Open winner, Ben Curtis by five shots. His fourth round score is the lowest score in the Tournaments history. He earned over a million dollars for his victory and reached a career high 16th in the world rankings.
He will be making his Ryder Cup debut this year and is sure to be a major talking point. Matchplay team events are not new to him, he was a member of the winning US Walker Cup team in 2005.
